In a major setback for AIADMK General Secretary Sasikala Natarajan, who is aspiring to be the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, the Supreme Court on Tuesday restored her conviction in a disproportionate assets case. The apex court quashed a Karnataka High Court order staying Sasikala’s conviction by a trial court and said she must serve her remaining jail term.
